What is Invisalign?

At our office, we offer Invisalign to patients who have overcrowded, crooked or misaligned teeth. The treatment can be effective for malocclusion problems as well, such as overbites and underbites. Treatment is specific to each individual patient, with some needing Invisalign for just a little over six months and others requiring treatment for two or more years. It is a great option for older teens and adults who need to maintain a professional appearance.

Invisalign uses a system of clear trays to deliver high-quality results. They are useful for teens and adults who are able to follow through with their treatment and keep the aligners in place. Ideally, Invisalign should be worn for about 22 hours each day and only removed to eat and brush your teeth.
Invisalign is a great choice for most patients, but it isn’t for everyone. Additionally, orthodontic treatment may be needed in extreme cases. Because of this, a full examination and consultation with our doctor is necessary before treatment starts.
What happens during the procedure for Invisalign?
Invisalign treatment requires regular trips into our office to continue the care necessary. After having a consultation, an exam, and a series of x-rays in our office, Dr. Seth will create a customized orthodontic treatment plan specific to your teeth and smile. A digital impression is taken and sent to the lab for fabrication of clear aligners. It is important that these trays are worn for roughly 22 hours each day in order for your teeth to shift effectively into place.
The trays have to be removed when you are brushing and flossing your teeth. Invisalign offers quicker and longer lasting results compared to other options and is often more comfortable for patients to wear.
